Private Pay Psychotherapy and Assessment in Newport Beach

We are a private-pay practice. This allows us to offer care shaped entirely around each client's needs, free of insurance restrictions on diagnosis, length of treatment, or who you can see.

Psychotherapy

• $185–$275 per 45-minute session, depending on the clinician.

Psychological Assessment

Each evaluation is tailored to the questions it needs to answer. During your complimentary consultation, we'll recommend the right level of evaluation and give you a clear estimate before anything begins.

• Single Test Administration — starting at $900
  A single standardized measure, such as an IQ test or the TOVA, administered and scored to answer a specific question. Single tests are often requested by a psychiatrist to assist with treatment planning and medication, or by an educational setting for the school admissions process.

• Broad Psychological Screen — starting at $1,800
  A focused look at emotional, behavioral or attentional concerns, to clarify what is happening and whether further evaluation is needed. A broad psychological screen casts a wide net by sampling an array of psychological domains to determine of a concern warrants clinical attention.

• Multi-Domain Assessment — starting at $4,800
  Several areas evaluated together, such as attention, learning and emotional functioning, for a more complete picture. The Multi-domain assessment balances depth and breadth by comprehensively evaluating neurocognitive and social-emotional/personality domains. • Comprehensive Evaluation — starting at $6,000
  A full diagnostic, cognitive, academic and emotional evaluation, with a detailed written report and a feedback session. Our comprehensive evaluation goes beyond the breadth and depth of the multi-domain assessment by adding complementary specialized tests relevant to specific referral questions. This evaluation is often recommended for complex presentations, autism evaluations or evaluations for professional exam accommodations (e.g., LSAT, Bar exam, ACT, SAT).

Payment

Payment is due at the time of service. We accept Visa, MasterCard and American Express.

Cancellation Policy

Your appointment time is reserved for you. We ask for 48 hours' notice to cancel or reschedule; appointments missed or changed with less notice are billed at the full fee.

Do You Accept Insurance?

We do not contract with insurance companies, so services are paid directly at the time of service.

If you have a PPO plan, many plans reimburse a portion of out-of-network services. On request, we'll provide a superbill: a detailed receipt with everything you need to submit a claim. Reimbursement depends on your plan and isn't guaranteed. Most plans reimburse only services from licensed clinicians, so please let us know if you plan to use your benefits, and we'll match you accordingly.

To check your out-of-network benefits, call the member services number on the back of your insurance card and ask whether your plan covers outpatient mental health services from an out-of-network provider. If it does, ask about your out-of-network deductible and how much of it has been met, what percentage your plan reimburses, how many sessions or evaluations are covered each year, and whether you need a referral or pre-authorization. You can also give them the CPT codes listed above to learn the reimbursement rate for each service. We'll provide a superbill after each visit for you to submit to your insurer.

If you have an HMO, services are typically covered only within your network.
